350 Mass “working groups” have emerged as spaces for 350 Mass volunteers interested in special topic areas to meet, learn, and strategize separately from the active campaign teams, which focus on specific statewide goals. There are currently two 350 Mass working groups that meet regularly, have email lists, and are open for any 350 Mass volunteers in the state to join.
Transportation Working Group
Transportation accounts for 39% of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Massachusetts, the largest of any energy sector. The 350 Mass Transportation Working Group (TWG) advocates for a drastic reduction in these emissions, achieved through measures that are socially just and equitable. Current projects include promoting electric vehicles and advocating for increases in state taxes/fees to pay for big improvements in public transit and bike/pedestrian facilities (such as the Fair Share Amendment). TWG is a member of the statewide coalition Transportation for Mass and partners with Alternatives for Community & Environment (ACE), Livable Streets Alliance, MA Public Interest Research Group (MassPIRG), MA Sierra Club, T Riders Union, Transit Matters, and the Union of Concerned Scientists.

Solidarity Working Group
The 350 Mass Solidarity Working Group (SWG) is a cohort of 350 Mass climate activists who learn about, take action around, and build partnerships to advance social justice causes through monthly conference calls, online coordination, and node-level organizing. SWG currently hosts monthly video calls (second Thursday of every month, 8:00pm) to connect 350 Mass volunteers around the state who are interested in learning more about the connections between climate change and other social justice issues and discussing how 350 Mass nodes can best show up to support other movements for justice.
