I vehemently oppose this project and the proposed tariff for the following reasons:

    1) The Pipeline is not needed

    2) It is Incompatible with the Mass. Global Warming Solutions Act

This project has been fraudulently presented from the get go when TGP initially stated it was a “federal project”. Well, it’s not a federal project, it’s a private endeavor that needs to be approved by the FERC. The opposition to this project is overwhelming, as reflected by the fact that over 60% of the landowners whose properties it goes through have denied survey access, as well as by the number of towns that have passed resolutions opposing the project. We the people don’t need this project, don’t want this project, and it’s an insult, and frankly I can’t believe legal, for us to be expected to pay for this project. This is outrageous.

     Dear Governor Baker:

Your Department of Public Utilities has moved forward with a proposal to pay for new gas pipelines by adding a charge to our monthly electricity bills. But ratepayers should not be saddled with costs that have always been borne by gas companies in the past.

PLUS: Attorney General Healey’s recently released study shows that we don’t even need new pipelines! By investing in clean energy and energy efficiency, we can ensure reliability while keeping costs down and meeting the state’s mandated goals for reducing climate pollution.
